Flock Leader’s Message

Here we are again at my favorite time of year; the beginning of our Audubon Season! As well as the beginning of our 2019 graduates beginning their first trek south. Godspeed.

Growing older does not necessarily mean growing wiser. But in the words of Abraham Lincoln, In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.

At 48 years young, I know my birthday will come every year, no matter what, but how I decide to spend each and every year/day/moment is a personal, educated and conscious choice.

Now I can say, the older I get, the more aware I am of the consequences of the past and present misuse and abuse of the Earth and all it has (or had) to offer. All you have to do is open your eyes to see it.

Yes, while deeply sad, let us be part of the answer and insist on environmental responsibility. Be an example for our future generations, not just ‘preach’ environmental responsibility, but


No effort is too small. Simply by supplying a bag for a school, all-aluminum cans were recycled, instead of going into the garbage. That isn’t difficult to do. In fact, it was simple. I have a couple protégé’s that make it happen even if I am not there!

These children are our future, and they are watching us, even when we don’t know it……
